A Message From our Deacon Stephen, Evangelist John W. Marshall, Head of the Deacons:

We the Deacons of the Church of God and Saints of Christ were called through divine ordination to service the people of God.  “And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.  Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.  Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.  But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”  Acts 6:1-4 (KJV):

The first man chosen was Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Ghost.  In 2003, I was appointed to the office of the Deacon Stephen of the Church of God and Saints of Christ to service at the command of Chief Executive and Sr. Bishop Robert Dennis Grant, Sr.  I have been blessed to work with an ever-growing group of dedicated and committed men who are willing to serve whenever they are called in their respective local jurisdictions and Nationally as called and directed.

“For they that have used the office of a Deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree and great boldness in the faith, which is in Christ Jesus”. I Timothy 3:13 (KJV)
